Communities cannot change if opportunities do not exist for young people.

The Next Page Community Foundation works with the youth of Govandi, one of Mumbai’s least-developed wards, to spread opportunities and smiles through books, football, and art.

Programme Highlights

The Next Page Library

The Next Page Library is the only free library in the Govandi community. With its carefully curated collection and wide range of reading material, it provides children, young and old, with access to a world of knowledge, learning, and opportunities.

Foxpassers Football Club

The Foxpassers Football Club consists of a group of youngsters from the wider Govandi community, who are passionate about football. We have been working with the youth of the community since 2017 to create a safe, positive environment where talent can thrive.

Art Attack

At The Next Page, art serves as an important vehicle for exploration of the self, the community, and the wider world. We believe that allowing children to explore their creative side is an essential part of childhood and learning.

Our Community

The M(E) Ward is the least-developed municipal ward of Mumbai

Govandi, tucked away in a corner of Mumbai’s suburbs, is one of the city’s best-kept secretes and most indicators of socio-economic well-being here are miserably low. This has an impact on its young people more than anyone else.

This sprawling slum settlement with its winding lanes and crowded chawls is home to thousands of young people with aspirations thwarted by an environment that is plagued with systemic problems. As is often the case, opportunities to understand their selves and the larger world simply don’t exist within the current environment. Massive levels of governmental and non-governmental intervention will be require to change this.

The Next Page is a community initiative focused on giving young people the chance discover their abilities and affect positive change for themselves and others around them.
